| The testing began by using a multitude
of different styles of riders, some were more traditional and many were of the
progressive “loose” style of riders. The result is a board that can
be ridden with or without the center fin. Using the center fin is good for the
hard cutting rider who likes to track true and straight on landings, and wants
the security of a center fin. Riding the board without the center fin is for the
riders who like a looser feel, more like a snowboard type of feel. It allows the
riders to spin faster and sooner off the wake and sometimes cheat a landing to
make the sick tricks. The top shape helps reduce
board weight, and also gives it structural strength. By dishing the ends out on
the board, we create lighter tips
which make spinning faster and easier.
The board has a whole new rocker which allows it to “scoop”
the wake like never before. The new rocker pattern really helps give the board
more pop and is light off the top of the wake. It allows the tip to stay high
on hard cuts through the wake, letting you get the most out of the wake and the
board. The new rocker pattern definitely makes the board easier to ride, more
fun, and more explosive off the wake.
The molded in fins have been increased in size to allow
the board to be both compatible for riding with fins and without, the result is
better tracking and a stronger hold on hard cuts to the wake.
The inset fins were made just a bit smaller this year, but
the feature still works to hold the tail of the board solid on cuts to the wake.
In additional the board has a scooped out channel that releases the water and
helps to keep true direction.
This board is unbelievable. One of my favorite features
on the new Absolute is the center spine on the bottom. We made it bigger this
year, because you can never have too soft of a landing. Increasing the center
spine’s depth makes for buttery smooth landings. When you add to that the
insane pop and the true stability of the way the Absolute tracks, you have a board
that I know will work for everyone.
I really believe that this board will ride exceptionally
for ALL the riders out there. From beginner to pro, hard cutting to looser riders,
the Absolute will pop, track and land better than I ever expected. I love my new
board!
